OHIO (Southern) AND KENTUCKY
MEDLAB’s presence in Southern Ohio & Kentucky is formed by the former Kilbourne Medical Laboratories.
Clients in the Southern Region vary from large facilities in urban areas to smaller facilities in the more rural parts of Indiana and Kentucky. Phlebotomists are assigned to a set of facilities and have the opportunity to develop strong working relationships with the staff and patients within them through their daily visits. There are over 1,000 clients within the region and each month approximately 225,000 accessions are processed in the lab – yielding over 2.5 million accessions on an annual basis.
Kilbourne, one of the oldest independent laboratories in the tri-state area, has provided laboratory services to clients in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana for more than thirty years. Now operating exclusively under the MEDLAB name, their client base includes long-term facilities, physician offices and corporations requiring clinical tests. We recently installed a state of the art laboratory information system (LIS) in the main laboratory, and currently provide testing in blood and urine chemistry, hematology, serology, electrophoresis, immunology, toxicology, microbiology, cytology and histology.
Limited laboratory testing is conducted in Indianapolis, IN; Dayton, OH; and Louisville, KY and we also provide a facility in Lexington to support clients in the eastern part of Kentucky.
The College of American Pathologists (CAP) has accredited Kilbourne since 1994.
