

Euclid, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, is the site of MEDLAB’s Northern Ohio operations. Bringing together four formerly separate laboratories, the region extends from Columbus, in central Ohio, to the northern border. The following laboratories now operate jointly as MEDLAB – Northern Ohio and process approximately 1,000,000 accessions annually:
Clinical Health Laboratories, founded in 1947, is the home base of MEDLAB’s Northern Ohio Region. Within the laboratory, tests are conducted in microbiology, toxicology, immunology, chemistry, hematology and coagulation. The lab is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) with distinction in quality, and certified by the CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act). The laboratory serves long-term care facilities, physician offices, homebound patients, and home health agencies throughout the Northern Ohio Region.
Suburban Medical Laboratory, Inc. was established in 1975. At its inception, the focus of the company was to serve the physician market. As business grew, it began to realize a larger market share in the nursing home industry, home health, psychiatric hospitals, community wellness and veterinary wellness industries. Suburban services the entire Northern Ohio and Northern West Virginia geography and has patient service centers at its main location in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, as well as in Akron and Canton, Ohio. Suburban is licensed by the Ohio Department of Health and is certified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) as a Medicare and Medicaid provider.
Medi-Lab Inc. was started thirty years ago as a regional reference laboratory in Lima, Ohio. Today, the laboratory is licensed by the Ohio Department of Health and is certified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) as a Medicare and Medicaid provider. This laboratory provides services to physicians, nursing homes and industrial clients. In addition to the main location in Lima, Ohio, there are satellite locations in several other cities in Ohio: Bellfontaine, Ottawa, Van Wert, Celina, and Wapakoneta.
A fourth laboratory in Columbus, Ohio was originally acquired by Kilbourne Medical Laboratories, and now serves the central Ohio region, operating a mini-lab for sample processing and actively engaging in outreach programs to physicians within the area.
